Caring for Your Banner Year Tee 🏀

Your tee was made to rep your fandom through every season — and if you treat it right, it’ll keep showing up for years to come. Each shirt is a Comfort Colors 1717: 6.1 oz, 100% ring-spun cotton, garment-dyed for that broken-in feel, and screenprinted to hold up through every wash and wear.

Washing

  • Turn inside out before washing to protect the print.
  • Machine wash cold with like colors.
  • Use gentle detergent, no bleach or harsh cleaners.
  • Skip fabric softeners — they coat the cotton.

Drying

  • Tumble dry low or hang dry for best results.
  • Avoid high heat — it can shrink cotton and crack the print.

Ironing

  • If needed, iron inside out on low heat.
  • Never iron directly over the screenprint.

Before the First Wear

  • Wash your tee separately before rocking it for the first time — pigment-dyed cotton can release extra color at the start.
  • Some loose pigment may stay on the surface even after the first wash. That’s normal — just avoid tossing it in with light or white items until it’s broken in.

About Comfort Colors® Garment Dye

Every Banner Year tee is garment-dyed, which gives it that vintage, lived-in feel. Here’s what makes it unique:

  • Pigment dye colors: Washed-in, vintage look that keeps character for the life of the shirt.
  • Reactive dye colors: A more traditional, consistent shade with the same softness.
  • Because of the dye process, small shade variations are part of the charm — no two shirts are exactly alike.
  • Each shirt is pre-shrunk during dye + wash, so you’ll see almost no shrinkage at home.

Long-Term Care

  • Garment-dyed cotton naturally softens and fades with time.
  • Wash dark colors separately for the first few washes.
  • Store in a cool, dry place away from sunlight.
